Is It Possible To Remortgage On The The Value The House Will Be Worth After Work Is Carried Out?

My house is currently worth £85,000. I am aware it would be worth substantialy more if certain work was done. As the house was in poor condition when I bought it & needed more doing to it than originally anticipated I ended up securing a loan on the property as well as taking out a personal loan to do up the house which I manage perfectly well to pay each month. Even so, there is still alot that needs be done & I have run out of funds. I am considering remortgaging to complete the work but if I was to do this I would think it sensible to clear my outstanding debts at the same time & at my houses current value it wouldnt be possible to do both.
Is it possible for me to get a valuation of my property based on what it would be worth if I do the work needed & remortgage based on that valuation so that I could then afford to do it?

Can Anyone Refer Me To A Good Debt Consolidation Center?

I have all sorts of debt. 3 closed checking accounts and one closed savings account, a closed credit card account, and four bounced checks. Does anyone know of a solid debt consolidation firm that can help me? Most won’t handle overdrawn bank accounts, and I can’t find one for the life of me. The total debt is somewhere around $7,000. The sad thing is that I am a college student who got in trouble with gambling, and now I’m trying to come clean. Please advise! Thanks in advance!

Is It Legal To Not Pay Child Support When There Is Debt Owing?

My ex spouse and I separated almost a year ago. To date we have never filed for separation papers, as we waited for our financial situation to be better. Today I received notification from his lawyer that he will be cutting his child support payments in half because of joint debt that we had when we first separated. Normally this wouldn’t upset me, but because we owned a matrimonial home together, I know that I have at least 7500 owed to me from the equity of the home. The amount of debt that was left was 7200. I have already told my ex that I am willing to walk away from the house, with no debts owed, under the circumstance that the debt that I left behind is not put back on me…which obviously has been. So I guess what I’m asking is it legal (I know it’s not fair for the kids) that he doesn’t pay his full amount of support until my half of the debt is paid off, and then I make him remortgage the house to get my equity? Thanks for the help.

Engaged To Be Married. Fiance Has Some Loans/debt. Anyway I Could Ever Be Held Responsible For His Debt?

This debt was incurred before I met him, I have signed nothing, but am still wondering if I could be held responsible for this debt once we get married, or if God forbid he passes away. We just bought a house together and both our names are on mortgage. Could they take the house to pay his debt? Also, would he be able to remortgage the house without my permission? (just curious, he would never hold me responsible for his debt, but I just want to protect myself if he ever dies)

Is It Better To Use A Debt Consolidation Service Or Contact Creditors Directly?

I owe on 3 credit cards. One is starting to fall behind on the payments as its too much to pay. Which route is the way to go? Debt consolidation or contacting creditors & explaining that I was living beyond my means & now I am having trouble paying.
On the one card I’m having trouble with (Chase), my monthly balance is $299 but I can afford to pay $180 a month to them. I’ve heard horror stories where people get the WORST treatment when they try to set up payment plans with credit card companies. Do most companies decline an offer of a payment arrangement? I can get back to more payments in January or February but now is hard.
